We
meet three times a year, at Carnforth Masonic Hall, 1 John Street, Carnforth, LA5 9ER (see directions page)
on a fifth
Friday of the month
(which means that our meeting times are dictated by those months having five
Fridays).
We start our meeting at 7.30pm, and always finish by 9.00pm. Typically our
meetings follow a simple format, with about ten
minutes of 'business' (minutes
etc) followed by
the topic of the evening by the guest speaker which lasts for about forty
five
minutes.
After this there is usually a question time when members can ask the
speaker about his talk. This is often a very
instructive time!
There then follows another short 'business' session (new memberships, presentation
of
books and any other business)
before the meeting is closed.
Our
meetings are very friendly and relaxed, and as we are not a
lodge there
are no ranks or salutes other than the
courtesy of addressing each other
as Brother or Worshipful Brother, we do not wear regalia and dress is informal.
In addition, there is a lending library for the members with over one hundred
books.
Our
annual subscription is only £5.00 and qualification
for membership is simply to be a Master-Mason
Details
can be obtained from the Secretary,
W. Bro.
Bill Harwood (Warton Lodge 8411)
Next meeting is on Friday 30th April 2010 at 7.30pm,
at Carnforth Masonic Hall
when there will be a talk entitled: "The Chamber of Reflection"
By W.Bro. Bill Harwood
